Pepe Unchained announced on October 19, 2026, that it has released a developer toolkit and introduced Google login, session permissions, and sponsored transaction fees on its mainnet. The release forms Phase 2 of its revised roadmap, following the project’s decision earlier this year to focus on consumer applications.

The Phase 2 update explains that users can sign in through Google or email, with a wallet created for them in the background. Session keys allow users to authorize an app once, within defined limits, instead of approving each action through a wallet popup. Users can revoke that permission at any time.

With gas sponsorship, applications pay transaction fees on users’ behalf. Developers can deposit PEPU into a project-specific budget to cover those costs, while Pepe Unchained funds a free daily allowance for users of its own apps.

The developer toolkit includes six application templates, a software development kit, a command-line setup tool, and tools for AI coding assistants. A live demonstration lets users try the combined login, permissions, and fee sponsorship features.

The public developer repository describes integrations with Privy for login and embedded wallets, and ZeroDev Kernel for smart accounts and session permissions. Its templates cover consumer apps, games, NFT minting, token-gated content, and sponsored transactions.

Roadmap Progress Follows MEXC Delisting and a Chain Migration

The original 2026 roadmap scheduled Phase 2 for the third quarter, with partnerships, developer incentives, and ecosystem expansion assigned to Phase 3 in the fourth quarter. The October release follows the July 23 announcement that Pepe Unchained would focus on making consumer applications easier to build and use.

In September, Pepe Unchained acknowledged development delays and PEPU’s MEXC delisting. Developers had missed that week’s deliverables because of unforeseen delays, while the project said it was navigating a “challenging period.” MEXC had placed PEPU under a warning in August, listing September 17 as its estimated delisting date.

Pepe Unchained launched its token in December 2024 after reporting $73 million raised during its presale. Five months later, it migrated to an Arbitrum-powered chain and introduced a replacement PEPU token, citing the withdrawal of custom gas token support from its previous infrastructure. The transition doubled the token supply from 8 billion to 16 billion PEPU, with the additional allocation intended for staking rewards.

A compensation program subsequently offered PEPU to holders of selected tokens from the former ecosystem, using an April 24, 2025 snapshot to calculate allocations. Payments were spread over six months rather than used to restore the affected liquidity pools.

The project has since extended the compensation claim deadline from October 19 to October 30, 2026. Its latest notice says the remaining funds will be reassigned to other project purposes after that date.
